I inadvertently flushed a Short-eared Owl from the meadow at Montrose early this morning. The bird flew north towards the beach and I never saw it again. Mid-winter records of Short-eared Owls for Montrose are few so I was a bit surprised to see this bird. I saw nothing else of note.
