It was quite a spectacle, reminiscent of a scene from Hitchcock&#8217;s &#8220;The Birds&#8221;. For unknown reasons the large numbers stopped using Montrose and the spectacle is a thing of the past. The Purple Martins we see anymore are mostly the local breeders.
