Here&#8217;s a partial list of what Karen and I saw:<\/p>\n<p>Black-bellied Plover &#8211; 2<br \/>\nDunlin &#8211; 2<br \/>\nSanderling &#8211; 2<br \/>\nMerlin &#8211; 1<br \/>\nChimney Swift &#8211; 6<br \/>\nWhite-eyed Vireo &#8211; 1 immature (gray eyes)<br \/>\nWinter Wren &#8211; ~5<br \/>\nBrown Creeper &#8211; 4<br \/>\nGray Catbird &#8211; 1<br \/>\nAmerican Pipit &#8211; 1<br \/>\nLapland Longspur &#8211; 4, in the dunes<br \/>\nSnow Bunting &#8211; 4, also in the dunes<br \/>\nTennessee Warbler &#8211; 1<br \/>\nNashville Warbler &#8211; 1<br \/>\nOrange-crowned Warbler &#8211; ~8<br \/>\nNorthern Parula &#8211; 1<br \/>\nBlack-throated Blue Warbler &#8211; 1 male<br \/>\nBlack-throated Green Warbler &#8211; 1<br \/>\nPalm Warbler &#8211; ~6<br \/>\nBlackpoll Warbler &#8211; 1<br \/>\nAmerican Redstart &#8211; 1<br \/>\nCommon Yellowthroat &#8211; 1<br \/>\nChipping Sparrow &#8211; 1<br \/>\nGrasshopper Sparrow &#8211; 1<br \/>\nLincoln&#8217;s Sparrow &#8211; 2<br \/>\nFox Sparrow &#8211; ~6<br \/>\nHarris&#8217;s Sparrow &#8211; 1 immature<br \/>\nRusty Blackbird &#8211; 2<br \/>\nPurple Finch &#8211; 2<br \/>\nPine Siskin &#8211; 2<\/p>\n<p>The White-eyed Vireo was probably the best bird of the day, and I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve seen one at Montrose in the fall before. I first saw it in the willows in the dunes and later in the peripheral plantings and again near the Magic Hedge.
